wedding crashers

"Wedding Crashers, not the 2005 movie but the actual and literal meaning of the term means an un-invited guest at a wedding. Well most of the times weddings have multi faced guests whom you don't want to see. There are these ex's like the old girl friend or a old crush from school. The man you slept with for the first time or the woman for whom you had danced naked on a bar table. Most of the times your mother-in-law and your father-in-law are too considered as uninvited guests. But these are not the ones being discussed in this article, we are talking about a stranger or alien element of your wedding." ( love sessions 2009)

This clip is obviously from the movie "Wedding Crashers" . Untill I just looked up the definiton for wedding crashers I did not think that you could be a "crasher" by just being an uninvited guest showing up somwhere. When I think of a wedding crasher I think of someone who ruins or just completley destorys a wedding. I guess if someone was real picky about who comes to there wedding, seeing someone you dont know could make you mad, but I dont think it would completley ruin your big day.

I dont think that wedding crashers like Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson do to crash weddings is necessarily bad because they just go and pretend to be people related to the bride or groom somehow and try to hook up with random girls acting as if weddings make them emotional. Technically they don't mess anything up in fact according to the movie the guest have a lot of fun with them there.

court house weddings start and end in court

Recently I have been hearing about people just wanting to go to the court house and get married because it seems appropriate at the time with there situation and then later on down the road renew there vows doing a "real wedding"

I was curious to see what people thought about court marriages and this is what I found..

"After over 10 years of officiating weddings at the courthouse, I stopped. Put simply, getting married at the courthouse is a rotten experience.

Sitting in the hallway with lawyers and probations - possibly for hours - is neither fast nor romantic. Courthouse weddings also are not cheap.

Marriages that start at the courthouse - end at the courthouse.

The divorce rate for courthouse marriages is over 80%. More than 4 out of 5 marriages that start at the courthouse will end at the courthouse. The courthouse is where you go for a divorce, not a marriage.

How long will a courthouse ceremony take? It depends on when the judge has time to see you. That might be minutes, hours, or "come
back tomorrow."

Candidly, many couples go to the courthouse wanting a fast, cheap, and easy marriage ceremony. But that probably is not what really will happen. Nor is getting married to be treated like a dentist appointment.

Getting married can be fast, easy, cheap - romantic & fun. For less cost, time and effort, you can have an elopement without dressing up or fuss - BUT that also is romantic. easy, cheap and memorable. " ( DFWX.com 1998)

I read a couple of different articles and I just kept seeing over and over that court house weddings are just not fun to do because your big day is over before you even get to blink your eyes. You dont have to spend a ton of money on a "real wedding" if thats what peoples biggest worry is. It is your day and you can spend and do whatever you want on your wedding day.

wedding coordinators can do it all!

I had to write a paper about my future career which is a wedding coordinator in a class. I found some very interesting things about this career that I did not know, like how much responsibilty comes with being a wedding planner. For example when planning someones wedding you are a:

facilitator
mediator
money manager
artisan
organizer of all parties concerned

"Wedding planner can do everything from arranging a budget to remembering to bring white bobby pins for the brides veil. Duties can include setting up appointments, offering etiquette advice, mailing invitations and recording responses, coordinating the decorations, negotiating contracts, and attending to many other details. However, many planners also set their limits as to what they can and cannot do. One wedding planner I know draws the line at writing the thank-you notes. "(Fulbright 2009)
Not only are wedding planners taking care of people's weddings, but since they are
entrepreneurs they also have a business to run and have to make sure they keep up with thier own budget let alone all the other weddings they are trying to do. The biggest thing is trying to start your own business and getting that good reputation to attract customers.

Wedding coordinators can make a decent amount if they have a good reputation and if they are in the right area. The way wedding coordinators charge can vary depending on how you want to. For example :

1.You can charge depending on the percentage of the wedding cost

2. Flat fee of 10 to 15 percent of the wedding budget. Since the average wedding using a coordinator costs about $15,000, your earnings may run from $1,500 to about $2,000.

3. Hourly rate ranging from $50 to $150 per hour. According to many wedding coordinators, the average wedding takes about thirty-to-forty hours of coordinating, which ends up costing between $1,500 and $3,000.

If you work 30 weddings in a year at 1,500 each wedding you can average about 45,000 a year. you can increase that if you open your own business and sell accessories or rent tuexedos and other things like that.

The wedding planning business is seasonal the traditional busy months are October, September, June and August.

As we all know the Internet has its postives and negatives, but we can't live without it so were going to have to deal with it. Nomura, Rumiko in "The Internet Today: Causes and Effects" points out the postives first in her article

1.get the latest news on the Internet
2. it is changing the concept of organization or system like a nation, an ethnic group, a company and a network of people
3.it helps connect people
4.you can express yourself.

Then Nomura goes on to show the negatives
1.copyrighting other people’s things and using it for your own
2.subversive material posted online
3. hacking
4. how the Internet is full of junk.

There is not much you can do about the negative things, but to be aware of them !
The Internet is so useful, you can do so much on it if you think about it; you can "shop online, do business, file applications, budgeting, check book balancing, etc. The rapis speed of the Internet also draws people in, the luxury of not having to travel to the library and with a click of a button have exactly what you are looking for without looking through pages and pages of books." (Goessl 2002-2010)

All of this is very convienient, but with all this comes drawbacks; "security or crimes such as identity theft, hacking or embezzlement. One of the main drawbacks is whether or not society has become too dependent on the Internet. If the Internet was permanently severed people would not know how to take care of some of their necessities. " (Goessel 2002-2010)

The computer does all of these things for us and really if you think about it makes us lazy. Like Goessel says what happened if something happened to the Internet alot of business would have to hire alot more people to do work that the computer usually would of done, everything would have have to be done by hand for the most part.

I obviously am using the Internet right now to blog and I can admit I dont know what I would do without the Internet, but all im saying is we cant forget traditional ways of doing things.

This article by Goessel is called "Effect of the computers and Internet on society" just in case you wanted to read more in depth on this.
